Coca-Cola Bottling Shqipëria (CCBS) – the authorized partner for 31 years in the production, packaging, distribution, and sale of Coca-Cola products in Albania – presents its second Sustainability Report, capturing the results achieved and consolidating the Roadmap to become the first Carbon Neutral company in Albania by 2030. A goal taking shape through concrete investments and measurable results: from renewable energy to sustainable mobility, from packaging innovation to people development.

The report, prepared by Deloitte Albania and certified by Ernst & Young, reflects the actions undertaken by CCBS and demonstrates the company’s consistent commitment to sustainability, expressed through measurable results and value created for consumers, employees, stakeholders, and communities. “Each year, this document helps us turn commitment into measurable actions and has become an integral part of our development strategy,” highlights Luca Busi, President of CCBS. “Sustainability is not just a chapter of our activity; it is the very heart of our industrial identity. The figures allow us to assess whether our performance truly reflects the values we believe in, and that guide every daily choice we make, from environmental protection to investing in people.”

The 2024 snapshot shows adaptability and resilience in a rapidly evolving context. Several key indicators stand out: thanks to self-generation from photovoltaic plants, renewable energy covered 43% of the company’s electricity needs. On the sustainable mobility front, CCBS operates a fully electric sales fleet in Tirana, Durrës, Elbasan, and Vlorë, supported by dedicated fast-charging infrastructure. These efforts enabled CCBS to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions (Scope 1, directly linked to business operations) by 786 tons of CO compared to the previous year. Packaging development also made significant progress: 83% of materials used came from renewable sources (+2% compared to the previous year). In parallel, CCBS achieved remarkable improvement in the use of recycled materials, which now account for 46% of all primary and secondary packaging, up 33% from 2023.

Significant attention was also dedicated to people: the team grew to 394 employees, with 6,020 hours of training delivered. With 83% of its supply chain composed of local suppliers, CCBS ensured that 93% of the economic value generated returned in the market, turning into tangible development and benefits for the community.

“Our path towards Carbon Neutrality 2030 is ambitious,” continues Busi, “but we know it is achievable thanks to the joint commitment of employees, partners, and communities. This report helps us map priorities, seize opportunities, and responsibly address the challenges of our time. Our ambition is not only to confirm CCBS’s leadership but to continue doing more, with the conviction that Albania can truly become an international laboratory of sustainable innovation.”

The CCBS 2024 Sustainability Report is available to stakeholders, institutions, universities, chambers of commerce, and organizations engaged in sustainability, with the goal of fostering constructive dialogue between the public and private sectors across the country. Through transparent and verified reporting, CCBS reaffirms that collaboration is essential to accelerate positive change in Albania and proudly declares its role in this journey that involves not only the business community but society as a whole.
