Job Purpose:

Merchandisers help optimize sales and profit by ensuring that stores are stocked with the right products in the right quantities. This may include stocking shelves, arranging and maintaining product displays, pricing products, and monitoring store inventory. Some merchandisers also analyze sales data to identify top-selling lines and develop promotional strategies.

More specifically:

Role and Responsibilities:

• Ensures that stores and shelves are stocked with the correct types and quantities of products
• Displays, arranges and prices products in the store
• Maintains store shelves by removing outdated or damaged products
• Monitors store inventory based on sales and receipts
• Optimizes sales volume and profitability by identifying profitable lines and bestsellers
• Makes recommendations for promotional strategies using sales and pricing data
• Works and communicates with buyers, suppliers, stores and distributors.
• Must reside in the relevant areas.
• Skills and Qualifications:
• Must have completed secondary education (Higher education is an advantage).
• Must have 2-3 years of previous work experience in similar positions.
• Must have very good communication skills and be able to work in a team.
• Good analytical skills
• Driving license (must be available to travel)
