Fabio Colliva: “From a simple idea big projects can be created and evolved”
At the Innvest Summit 2022 in Tirana, the General Director of Coca-Cola Bottling Shqipëria (CCBS), Fabio Colliva, shared the company’s journey in Albania as a model of sustainable investment and long-term development.
“From simple ideas, you realize that you can create great things you never imagined before,” said Colliva. “This energy and creativity come from young people. That is why it is essential to encourage their innovative spirit and support them in turning ideas into reality.”
Through this message, Colliva highlighted the importance of supporting youth by exposing them to the experiences and practices of successful companies. He presented the Coca-Cola model in Albania as an example of how consistent, responsible investments can create long-term value for both the economy and society.
A Platform for Sustainable Ideas
The Innvest Summit brought together corporations, business representatives, the Municipality of Tirana, angel investors, startups, and young innovators from Albania and the region. Over two days, the event aimed to inspire ideas that promote sustainable development in cities and communities.
In her opening speech, Fabiola Duro, founder of the Innvest Summit, emphasized the importance of investments that positively impact society, the environment, and the economy.
“Our goal is to ensure that every investment creates meaningful impact, supporting the ecosystem through technology, better education, and innovation,” she said.
Deputy Mayor of Tirana, Arbjan Mazniku, also addressed the summit, highlighting the role of startups and young people in shaping the city’s economic future.
“They represent an alternative vision of how a city’s economy can grow beyond traditional sectors such as trade, services, or industrial development,” he noted.
Coca-Cola’s Contribution to Albania’s Development
During his presentation, Colliva explained that Coca-Cola’s participation in the summit reflects the company’s commitment to impactful investments.
“For us, this is an important opportunity to show young Albanians—and the public at large—what we do in concrete terms. We contribute to Albania’s development and create stability by supporting professions, generating jobs, and helping families build better futures.”
When asked about CCBS’s environmental impact and sustainability efforts, Colliva outlined several key initiatives undertaken over the past decade.
“Many of our activities have focused on sustainability,” he said. “From water treatment and advanced production technologies, to investments in electric vehicles for our sales fleet in Tirana, Durrës, and Kavajë, which help reduce CO₂ emissions.”
He also highlighted the company’s investment in renewable energy:
“We recently installed photovoltaic panels at our premises, covering around 62% of our electricity needs with solar energy. We have also supported tree-planting initiatives in Tirana and coastal clean-up activities to protect the environment.”
A Carbon-Neutral Vision for 2030
Looking ahead, Colliva reaffirmed CCBS’s ambitious sustainability goals.
“Our challenge is to become the first carbon-neutral, zero-emissions company in Albania by 2030. It is a big challenge, but we believe we are taking the right steps.”
Through its continued investments in people, innovation, and sustainability, Coca-Cola Bottling Shqipëria aims to remain a key contributor to Albania’s economic and social development—while inspiring the next generation of entrepreneurs and innovators.
