The FIFA World Cup™ Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola, which arrived in Tirana on May 22, 2022, celebrated the inclusive power of sport with Albania’s football community and left a lasting legacy behind.
As part of this historic visit, the Original FIFA World Cup™ Trophy came to Albania for the first time. Building on this milestone, and in cooperation with the Albanian Football Association (AFA), Coca-Cola supported the construction of a new sports field at the SOS Children’s Village in Tirana, providing young residents with a safe and inspiring space to play.
The President of Coca-Cola Bottling Shqipëria, Luca Busi, and the President of the Albanian Football Association, Armand Duka, expressed their enthusiasm for a project that offers children the opportunity to experience the joy and positive values of sport.
We are proud that the FIFA World Cup™ Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola brought the Original FIFA World Cup™ Trophy to Albania for the first time—a country where Coca-Cola feels at home after nearly three decades,” said Luca Busi, President of Coca-Cola Bottling Shqipëria. “We strongly believe in the power of sport to bring people together and promote inclusion. This project, made possible with the support of AFA, is our way of leaving a tangible and meaningful contribution after this unforgettable celebration.”
On the other hand, AFA President Armand Duka emphasized the association’s commitment to creating safe and accessible spaces for young people to play and grow through sport.
“The Albanian Football Association has supported this project through its funds and donations to invest in the playing field at the SOS Village,” said Duka. “The full functionality of the field is ensured through the installation of a shock-absorbing layer, creating a safe and modern environment for the children.”
The arrival of the FIFA World Cup™ Trophy Tour created an opportunity for a meaningful collaboration between Coca-Cola and AFA, centered on social responsibility and community impact. This initiative reflects Coca-Cola’s ongoing contributions in Albania, including projects linked to Tirana European Youth Capital and the broader social and economic impact of the company’s presence in the country since 1994.
