CCBS Supports Albania’s First Arboretum at the Artificial Lake of Tirana

As part of the re-greening efforts at the Artificial Lake Park of Tirana and in celebration of the park’s 60th anniversary, Coca-Cola Bottling Shqipëria (CCBS) invested in the creation of Albania’s first Arboretum project. The initiative makes it possible to identify the species and age of trees throughout the park, offering visitors a deeper understanding of its rich biodiversity.

Through the “Tirana Ime Outdoor” application, park visitors can easily access detailed information about the vegetation, turning a simple walk in the park into an educational and interactive experience.

Mayor Erion Veliaj praised the project, highlighting the importance of using technology to provide accessible information about the park’s ecosystem. He noted that the improvements at the Artificial Lake serve as a strong example of how other green spaces, such as the Botanical Garden, can be transformed into modern, well-maintained, and visitor-friendly environments.

“The signage helps visitors understand the types of trees, what grows in the park, and the biodiversity it offers,” said Mayor Veliaj. “Anyone concerned about the future of the Botanical Garden can look at the improvements around the lake and see how it can also become a true jewel for the city.”

As part of the same initiative, CCBS also provided an eco-friendly vehicle to support the park’s cleaning fleet, contributing to more sustainable maintenance operations.

With the support of CCBS, the Municipality of Tirana continues to modernize park infrastructure by introducing ecological vehicles and installing informative signage for each tree. The system provides details about species, age, and origin, making the park more engaging for families, students, and nature enthusiasts.

All this information is easily accessible by downloading the “Arboretum” application on a mobile phone, creating a smarter, greener, and more educational public space for the community.
