CCBS Presents Its First Sustainability Report: A Certified and Pragmatic Approach to Social Responsibility

A 65% reduction in electricity purchased from the grid, replaced by self-production through photovoltaic panels—equal to 516 fewer tonnes of CO₂ emissions (Scope 2) in just one year—a 100% electric commercial fleet powered by renewable energy, more than 3,000 training hours delivered to over 350 employees, and the evolution of product packaging through weight reduction and increased use of recyclable and recycled materials, including rPET in key formats.

These are some of the main results highlighted in Coca-Cola Bottling Shqipëria’s first Sustainability Report, referring to the year 2022 and prepared by Deloitte. The report marks an important milestone in the company’s ongoing journey toward transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement.

“This is an official document that demonstrates our company’s solid commitment to sustainability and social responsibility,” said Luca Busi, President of CCBS. “For us, CCBS is more than an entrepreneurial activity; it is a force for positive change. Since 1994, our green initiatives have moved beyond formal commitments to become the foundation of our identity and guide our everyday actions. We believe that the true success of a company is measured not only by financial performance, but by the lasting value it creates for future generations.”

Since the beginning of its operations in Albania, CCBS has promoted environmental initiatives through pioneering projects that aim to set new standards in the local market. Investments in photovoltaic energy, the introduction of a fully electric commercial fleet in Tirana, Durrës, and Kavajë, the installation of fast-charging stations, and tree-planting programs are just some examples of the company’s ongoing commitment across all levels of the organization.

More than a simple analysis, the Sustainability Report represents a transformation toward a structured, documented, and verified approach.

“We have built a development model that engages the entire supply chain and evolves together with Albanian society,” added Busi. “By combining the strength of a global brand, the values of a family business, and a strong local perspective, we are proud to say that our commitment is no longer just a statement. It is now supported by detailed reporting and verified by specialized consultants. Only by understanding our starting point can we continue to improve.”

Looking ahead, CCBS is working with leading European consultants to build a roadmap toward carbon neutrality by 2030, an ambitious goal that reflects the company’s long-term sustainability vision.

“This is a challenging but transformative journey,” concluded Busi. “I would like to thank our dedicated team, The Coca-Cola Company, our stakeholders and the communities we serve. Only together do we truly have the power to shape a sustainable future.”
